The Tactical Breacher Instructor the students will have a solid, foundational understanding of the of the history, concepts, principles and current applications for conducting mechanical & shotgun breaching techniques.

Instructional Objectives:

At the end of this course of instruction, the student will:

1. Be able to illustrate the historical basis of structural breaching.
2. Be able to conduct standard breaching with handheld tools or shotgun.
3. Be able to breach multiple types of commercial and residential doors.
4. Be able to access and choose the correct tools for breaching applications.
5. Be able to conduct a target site POE reconnaissance if applicable.
6. Be able to complete a hasty POE target site plan of action.
7. Be able to teach all concepts and techniques to students.

DAY 1
BLOCK A.
Storage, Selection and Maintenance of Breaching Equipment
1. Storage Locations
2. Pre Deployment
3. Slings and Non Conductive/Flammable Materials

BLOCK B.
Field Applications with Manual Handheld Rams
1. Types of mechanical rams
2. Use of basic hand held ram
3. Identifying inward opening doors
4. Storage and maintenance
5. One man vs two man applications

BLOCK C.
Field Applications with Pry Tools and Halligan Bars
1. Types of pry bars
2. Basic use of pry bars & wedges
3. Identifying outward opening doors
4. Set pry and two man team concept
5. Solo operator application
6. Pad Lock, Chain and Cable Mitigation/Bolt Cutters
7. Glass Breaching & Window Punches
8. Pry Bar Dangers

DAY 2
BLOCK D.
Field Applications with Simple 10,000PSI Hydraulics
1. Special Jam Spreader Applications
2. Special Wedge Spreader Applications
3. Stealth Breaching
4. Lock Picks

BLOCK E.
Field Applications with Shotguns
1. Types of Shotguns
2. Carry TTP
3. Over/Under Penetration
4. Fire on Target Introduction
5. Wood vs Metal
6. Commercial vs Residential
7. Locks, Deadbolts, Hinges and other
8. Types of Ammunition

DAY 3

Instructional Teaching Concepts - Field Applications
1. Students Teach Day 1 Training Concepts
2. Lectures – Demonstrations – Oversight - Safety
3. Instructor Assessments and Testing (Observational Field Review)
4. Students Teach Day 2 Training Concepts
5. Lectures – Demonstrations – Oversight – Safety
6. Instructor Assessments and Testing (Observational Field Review)
7. Clean up and final thoughts.
