We welcome Tami Watson back for part 2 of the series. In this class, we will be utilizing a SIRT (Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger) pistol.
This class is designed to remove the fear and intimidation of learning how to shoot while still providing a realistic environment. The fundamentals of shooting a handgun are taught using a “laser gun” that replicates a real handgun. Grip, site alignment, trigger press and stance are covered.
Students shoot from both the standing and kneeling position. (Those who cannot kneel will still actively participate without utilizing that position.)
The software used in this class tracks the shot placement and movement of the gun as the trigger is pulled. This gives the students feedback on their shooting tendencies that are difficult to see in a live fire scenario.
This class allows the students to practice fundaments prior to going into the live fire “Third Step Class.” It also allows the instructor to understand the abilities and skill levels of the students prior to live fire.
The Second Step Class is a 2-hour block of instruction, builds on the First Step Class and cannot be taken without first having completed the First Step Class. It is a fun, realistic learning environment for everyone. Learning to use a handgun is often an intimidating skill. Utilizing this technology offers a safe, enjoyable and productive opportunity to learn the basics. Students will be fully prepared for Basic Pistol!
