This course will cover:

  • Zeroing the Optic

  • Basic Functions of LPVO

  • Mounting and eye relief.

  • Varying engagement distances

  • Appropriate power options for specific mission sets

  • Utilizing bipods/tripods/shooting bags

  • MOA vs. MIL

  • Minor Wind and Elevation Holds

  • Shooting and moving while shifting magnification

  • Data on Previous Engagement

  • Ability to transfer the knowledge learned to peers within the department

Student Pre-Requisites: Students will be expected to have a basic knowledge of the LPVO platform and be ready to push themselves and their weapon systems through strenuous courses of fire. This course is designed to have the student leave with an understanding of the LPVO optic and transfer that lesson to their peers internally within their departments.

Required equipment: Operational Loadout, clear eye protection meeting ANSI Z87.1, belt, pants with pockets, no open toed shoes, snacks, hydration, and a positive attitude. Note taking materials, AR-15 with LPVO optic, sling, kit with mag pouches, minimum of 3 magazines, 400 commercially loaded rifle rounds. Agency issued caliber and weight ammunition is required for proper instruction.
