Owning an AR-15 can be rewarding, however, if you don’t know how to set up your rifle or what your hold overs are at certain distances, you won’t be ready for training, or proper deployment of this weapon platform. This course is for 5.56/.223 caliber AR-15 rifles/pistols. Students will begin this course in the class room and then head to the Sheriff’s Range only 4 miles from MTAC. This course will cover:
Barrel Length
Mission based rifle set up
Maintenance equipment musts, backup parts
Ammunition selection
Battle zero explained
Zeroing/ Verifying Zero
Hold over - Shooting from various distance
Student Requirements: For anyone with an AR-15 (5.56/.223)
Required equipment: Clear eye protection meeting ANSI Z87.1, belt, pants with pockets, no open toed shoes, AR-15 rifle with sling, mag pouches and a positive attitude. Range gear, hydration and food for the day. Weather appropriate apparel, we train rain or shine. 250 Rounds of commercially loaded ball ammunition.
