Armed in Public

Armed in Public is designed for armed citizens and armed professionals that are ready to test the techniques in defending themselves in public and/or social situations within the law.
This course focuses heavily on force on force scenarios where students must employ conflict resolution, de-escalation, and using situational awareness to avoid dangerous people or situations. Course topics include, but are not limited to:
- Safety rules for the shoot house/range
- Movement and ambush shooting
- Communication (verbal judo)
- Tactical positioning inside frequently visited public places
- Threat recognition/identification
- Shoot/No shoot
Students must have completed Armed Citizen EDC or taken a force on force course with a reputable training company as a pre-requisite.
*UTM converted pistols are provided by MTAC for your use during the course.
Required equipment: Clear eye protection meeting ANSI Z87.1, belt, pants with pockets, no open toed shoes snacks, hydration, and a positive attitude. Two layers of loose long sleeve/long pants clothing and gloves are recommended for force on force. Athletic cups are highly recommended.
Students will need to purchase a minimum of 50 rounds of UTM 9mm TSA ammunition at MTAC the day of the course. Eye protection is available for purchase in our pro shop.
